Well - Drama. As a lot of you have seen the website 1C13.org is currently offline. Don't worry it isn't because I haven't paid my bills, I managed to call in a favour for the hosting which means we get it free, but unfortunately that means that tech support isn't so good. To cut a long story short we may not have the site back online until next week.
But that's OK. We don't need a website for this 1c13 challenge, we can all save up our stories for next week and post them when it comes back online. Isn't it funny that this week is Love is Patient and we are all going to have to wait patiently for the website to come back online?
Fantastic :) So, back to the challenge - Living intentionally loving.
So this week - Love is patient.
Your challenge this week is to be patient in all aspect of your interactions with people. That could be patience with the old lady driving at 20mph in front of you when you're late for your meeting. It could be patience with your kids when they ignore your advice and make mistakes. It could be patience with your parents who can't seem to understand why you are doing what you do. It could be inviting your neighbour over for coffee even though you know that all he does is complain about his bad hip yet refuses to go and see a doctor. It could even be patiently waiting for that web developer, who set up an online challenge, to get the website back online so you can all share your stories.
In whatever form it takes, to quote the first ever post entered on the website when it was up - Patience is a virtue.
I for one am really looking forward to it. I can't wait to hear your stories.
With love (of the patient variety),
Ash

Patience- One that we can't live without, but is so hard to live with. Especially in todays world where immediate gratification of almost everything is what is better. How then do we learn patience? patience is part of the lifeblood of our relationship with God, this is how he teaches. If we don't learn this, then we better be set for a world of hurt because patience sets us free from the slavery that we are in. I am so thankful for patience, because this week has been invaluable to me for learning that. To be able to step back even when we don't want to and just listen to God. Wow.... it's hard and I've tripped and fallen I've lost count ten times over. If God has had patience with us then what makes us so much better then him that we don't have to have patience with outselves???? -Rick Mertz (Gal: 5-5)
ReplyDeleteI think this is a GREAT challenge. It is already pointing out to me so many ways I am NOT patient...I started realizing how impatient I am a few months ago...I'm not thrilled at this. LOVING people, not only our family and friends, but people we don't know...the person that cuts me off in the parking lot...that's rude to me at the store...how I respond to them whether they KNOW it or not (it doesn't matter, God knows it) highlights the impatience inside of me...it's not pretty. So thankful for this challenge...not necessarily liking some of what I see...spilling out of me...BUT looking forward to the growth coming and growing together! The group I started felt really behind, so we started LOVE IS PATIENT today...better late then never, right?
